Two vocational meetings
Gospel (Mt 8,18-22) - At that time, seeing the crowd around him, Jesus ordered them to cross over to the other side. Then a scribe approached him and said, “Master, I will follow you wherever you go.” Jesus answered him, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head." And another of his disciples said to him, "Lord, allow me to go and bury my father first." But Jesus answered him, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their dead."

Jesus calms the storm on the lake
Gospel (Mt 8,23-27) - At that time, when Jesus got into a boat, his disciples followed him. And then a storm broke out in the sea so violent that the boat was covered by the waves; and he slept. Then, coming to him, they woke him up saying: "Save us, Lord, we are lost!". And he said to them, "Why are you afraid, you of little faith?" Then getting up, he rebuked the winds and the sea and there was a great calm. Those present were astonished and said: "Who is this that the winds and the sea obey?"

Thomas's faith
Gospel (Jn 20,24-29) - Thomas, one of the Twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples said to him: "We have seen the Lord!". But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands, and put my finger into the mark of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” Eight days later the disciples were back in the house and Thomas was also with them. Jesus came, with the doors closed, stood in the middle and said: «Peace be with you!». Then he said to Thomas: «Put your finger here and look at my hands; stretch out your hand and put it in my side; and do not be an unbeliever, but a believer! Thomas answered him: «My Lord and my God!». Jesus said to him: «Because you have me

Healing of a paralytic
Gospel (Mt 9,1-8) - At that time, having boarded a boat, Jesus crossed over to the other shore and arrived in his city. And behold, they brought him a paralytic lying on a bed. Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic: "Courage, son, your sins are forgiven." Then some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man blasphemes." But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said: «Why do you think evil things in your heart? For which is easier: to say "Your sins are forgiven", or to say "Rise up and walk"? But, so that you know that the Son of Man has the power on earth to forgive sins: Get up - he then said to the paralytic -, take your bed and go to your house". And he arose and went to his house. The crowds, seeing this, were filled with fear and glorified God who had given such power to men.

I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners
Gospel (Mt 9.9-13) - At that time, Jesus saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax counter and said to him: "Follow me". And he got up and followed him. While he was sitting at table in the house, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat at table with Jesus and his disciples. Seeing this, the Pharisees said to his disciples: "How come your teacher eats together with tax collectors and sinners?". Hearing this, he said: «It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. Go and learn what it means: “I want mercy and not sacrifices”. In fact, I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

While the groom is with them
Gospel (Mt 9,14-17) - At that time, John's disciples approached Jesus and said to him: "Why do we and the Pharisees fast many times, while your disciples do not fast?". And Jesus said to them, “Can the wedding guests mourn while the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and then they will fast. No one puts a piece of rough cloth on an old dress, because the patch takes something away from the dress and the tear becomes worse. Nor do you pour new wine into old wineskins, otherwise the wineskins break and the wine spills and the wineskins are lost. But new wine is poured into new wineskins, and so both are preserved."

XIV of ordinary time
Gospel (Mk 6,1-6) - At that time, Jesus came to his homeland and his disciples followed him. When the Sabbath arrived, he began teaching in the synagogue. And many, listening, were amazed and said: «Where do these things come from? And what wisdom was that given to him? And wonders like those performed by his hands? Isn't this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, of Joses, of Judas and of Simon? And aren't his sisters here with us?" And it was a source of scandal for them. But Jesus said to them: "A prophet is not despised except in his own country, among his relatives and in his own house." And there he could not perform any miracles, but only he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them. And he marveled at their unbelief. Jesus went through the surrounding villages, teaching.

Resurrection of Jairus' daughter and healing of the haemorrhaging woman
Gospel (Mt 9,18-26) - At that time, [while Jesus was speaking,] one of the leaders came, prostrated himself before him and said: «My daughter has died just now; but come, lay your hand on her and she will live." Jesus got up and followed him with his disciples. And behold, a woman, who had been bleeding for twelve years, came up behind him and touched the hem of her cloak. In fact, she said to herself: "If I can even just touch her cloak, I will be saved." Jesus turned, saw her and said: "Courage, daughter, your faith has saved you." And from that moment the woman was saved. Then arriving at the chief's house and seeing the flutists and the agitated crowd, Jesus said: «Go away! In fact, the girl is not dead, but she is sleeping." And they laughed at him. But after the crowd had been driven away, he entered, took her hand, and the girl stood up. And this news spread throughout that region.

The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few
Gospel (Mt 9,32-38) - At that time, they presented Jesus with a mute demoniac. And after the demon was cast out, that dumb man began to speak. And the crowds, struck by amazement, said: "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel!" But the Pharisees said: "He casts out demons by the prince of demons." Jesus traveled through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, announcing the gospel of the Kingdom and healing every disease and every infirmity. Seeing the crowds, he felt compassion for them, because they were tired and exhausted like sheep that have no shepherd. Then he said to his disciples: «The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few! Therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest to send workers into his harvest!
Mission of the Apostles
Gospel (Mt 10,1-7) - At that time, having called his twelve disciples to him, Jesus gave them power over impure spirits to drive them away and heal every disease and every infirmity. The names of the twelve apostles are: first, Simon, called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James, son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James, son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus; Simon the Canaanite and Judas Iscariot, the one who then betrayed him. These are the Twelve that Jesus sent, ordering them: «Do not go among the pagans and do not enter the cities of the Samaritans; turn instead to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, preach, saying that the kingdom of heaven is near."

Freely you have received, freely give
Gospel (Mt 19,27-29) - At that time, Peter said to Jesus: «Behold, we have left everything and followed you; what then will we have?". And Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, you who have followed me, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of his glory at the regeneration of the world, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Whoever leaves houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or fields for my name will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life."

Prediction of persecutions
Gospel (Mt 10,16-23) - At that time, Jesus said to his apostles: «Behold: I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; therefore be prudent as serpents and simple as doves. Beware of men, for they will hand you over to the courts and scourge you in their synagogues; and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness to them and to the pagans. But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you will say, because in that hour what you must say will be given to you: in fact it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. »Brother will kill brother and father will kill son, and the children will rise up to accuse their parents and kill them. You will be hated by everyone because of my name. But whoever perseveres to the end will be saved. When you are persecuted in one city, flee to another; Truly I say to you, you will not have finished traveling through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes."

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body
Gospel (Mt 10,24-33) - At that time, Jesus said to his apostles: «A disciple is not greater than his master, nor is a servant greater than his master; it is enough for the disciple to become like his master and for the servant like his lord. If they called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more so those of his family! »Therefore do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing hidden from you that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known. What I say to you in the darkness you say in the light, and what you hear in your ear you proclaim from the terraces. And do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but have no power to kill the soul; rather be afraid of him who has the power to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. Aren't two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not even one of them will fall to the ground without the will of your Father. Even the hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not be afraid: you are worth more than many sparrows! Therefore whoever…

XV of ordinary time
Gospel (Mk 6,7-13) - At that time, Jesus called the Twelve to him and began sending them out two by two and gave them power over impure spirits. And he ordered them to take nothing for the journey except a staff: neither bread, nor bag, nor money in their belt; but to wear sandals and not to wear two tunics. And he said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave there. If in any place they do not welcome you and do not listen to you, go away and shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony to them." And they, having left, proclaimed that the people would convert, they would banish many demons, they would anoint many sick people with oil and heal them.

Whoever has lost their life because of me will find it
Gospel (Mt 10.34--11.1) - At that time, Jesus said to his apostles: «Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth; I have come to bring not peace, but a sword. For I have come to separate a man from his father, and a daughter from her mother, and a daughter-in-law from her mother-in-law; and the enemies of man will be those of his house. »Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; whoever does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever keeps his life for himself will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. Whoever welcomes a prophet because he is a prophet will have the reward of a prophet, and whoever welcomes a righteous man because he is a righteous man will have the reward of a righteous man. Whoever gives even one glass of cold water to drink to one of…

Warnings to cities
Gospel (Mt 11,20-24) - At that time, Jesus began to rebuke the cities in which he had performed the greatest number of miracles, because they had not converted: «Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida. Because if the miracles that were performed among you had been performed in Tire and Sidon, they would have done penance long ago, wrapped in sackcloth and ashes. Well I tell you: Tire and Sidon on the day of judgment will have a less harsh fate than yours. And you, Capernaum, «will you perhaps be raised up to heaven? You will fall to hell! Because, if the miracles performed in you had occurred in Sodom, it would still exist today! Well I tell you: on the day of judgment he will have a less harsh fate than yours!

God reveals himself to the simple
Gospel (Mt 11,25-27) - At that time, Jesus said: «I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to little ones. Yes, O Father, because you have decided so in your benevolence. Everything has been given to me by my Father; no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."

My yoke is easy
Gospel (Mt 11,28-30) - At that time, Jesus said: «Come to me, all you who are weary and oppressed, and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, who am meek and humble of heart, and you will find refreshment for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath
Gospel (Mt 12,1-8) - At that time, on the Sabbath, Jesus passed through wheat fields and his disciples became hungry and began to pick ears of corn and eat them. Seeing this, the Pharisees said to him: "Behold, your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath." But he answered them, “Have you not read what David did when he and his companions were hungry? He entered the house of God and ate the bread of the offering, which neither he nor his companions were allowed to eat, but only the priests. Or have you not read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple violate the Sabbath and yet are guiltless? Now I tell you that here is one greater than the temple. If you had understood what it means: “I want mercy and not sacrifices”, you would not have condemned innocent people. Because the Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath."

Jesus is the servant of the Lord
Gospel (Mt 12,14-21) - At that time, the Pharisees went out and took counsel against Jesus to put him to death. But Jesus, having learned of it, went away from there. Many followed him and he healed them all and ordered them not to divulge it, so that what had been said through the prophet Isaiah would be fulfilled: «Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom I have placed my pleasure. I will put my spirit upon him and he will proclaim justice to the nations. He will not dispute or shout, nor will his voice be heard in his streets. He will not break an already cracked reed, he will not extinguish a dull flame, until he has made justice triumph; in his name the nations will hope."

XVI of ordinary time
Gospel (Mk 6,30-34) - At that time, the apostles gathered around Jesus and told him everything they had done and what they had taught. And he said to them, "Come apart, you alone, to a deserted place, and rest a little." In fact, there were many who came and went and didn't even have time to eat. Then they went in the boat to a deserted place, apart. But many saw them leaving and understood, and from all the cities they ran there on foot and preceded them. When he got out of the boat, he saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep that have no shepherd, and he began to teach them many things.

The tomb found empty
Gospel (Jn 20,1-2.11-18) - On the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb in the morning, while it was still dark, and she saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb. She then ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said to them: "They have taken the Lord away from the tomb and we don't know where they have put him!". Mary was outside, near the tomb, and was crying. While she was crying, she bent down towards the tomb and saw two angels in white robes, one sitting at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been placed. And they said to her: «Woman, why are you crying? ?". She replied to them: "They have taken away my Lord and I do not know where they have placed him." Having said this, she turned back and saw Jesus, standing; but she didn't know it was Jesus. She said Jesus to her: «Woman, why are you crying? Who are you looking for?". She, thinking that he was the guardian of the garden, said to him:…

Here is my mother and here are my brothers
Gospel (Lk 2,36-38) - At that time, there was also a prophetess, Anna, daughter of Phanuèle, of the tribe of Asher. She was very advanced in age, she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, she had then become a widow and was now eighty-four years old. She never left the temple, serving God night and day with fasting and prayer. Arriving at that moment, she also began to praise God and spoke about the child to those waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.

The parable of the sower
Gospel (Mt 13,1-9) - That day Jesus left the house and sat by the sea. Such a crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat down, while the whole crowd stood on the beach. He spoke to them many things in parables. And he said, “Behold, the sower went out to sow. While he sowed, some fell along the road; the birds came and ate it. Another part fell on the stony ground, where there was not much soil; it sprouted immediately, because the soil was not deep, but when the sun rose, it was burned and, having no roots, withered. Another part fell on the brambles, and the brambles grew and suffocated it. Another part fell on good soil and bore fruit: one hundred, sixty, thirty for one. Whoever has ears, listen."
